About Us

Who We Are

Purebred Breeders is a network of responsible and professional dog breeders. Our organization is made up of many dog lovers who strive to place the perfect puppy with families throughout the country. We created this network with one intention: to offer a confident resource for people to find quality, healthy and happy puppies for their families. We have established a thorough screening process that each breeder must go through before we accept them into our network. Once accepted, our Breeder Department stays in constant contact with the breeders in an effort to make sure they continue to follow our stringent policies. We do this so that no matter when our families choose their new addition, they can be confident we are making every effort to assure they will receive a happy and healthy puppy.

All breeders must abide by our code of ethics as detailed below.

Breeder Code of Ethics

  • I maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary facility for all pets.
  • I comply with all federal, state or provincial, and local government laws and regulations concerning the keeping of dogs that I breed.
  • I breed only for the purpose of improving the quality of the breed.
  • I follow all AAHA standards and protocols for properly vaccinating and deworming all litters.
  • I properly socialize my puppies on a daily basis with my family and other pets.
  • I am knowledgeable about inherited health problems in my breed and will do appropriate health clearances on all breeding animals.
  • I conscientiously plan each litter of pets for sale by carefully selecting a sire and dam to be mated based on their pedigrees, conformation, and temperament.
  • I do not breed any sire or dam until they are both physically and mentally mature enough to breed.
  • I will not continue to breed any sire or dam beyond the appropriate age for the breed.
  • I will not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the breed, nor falsely advertise, or mislead any person regarding the performance of any of my dogs for sale.
  • I refrain from releasing any puppy until it is at least 8 weeks old, regardless of possible lesser requirements in my state or province. In addition, I will not release any puppy weighing less than 2 pounds until it is at least 12 weeks old.
  • I keep accurate records and retain those records for a minimum of 5 years. These records will include: stud services, pedigrees, all litters of dogs for sale, and all dogs sold.
  • I will provide all new dog owners with appropriate health certificates and vaccination records within 24 hours of puppy delivery and all registration paperwork within 60 days.

Who We Fight Against

Substandard breeders produce puppies with no breeding programs in place. Little attention is paid to puppy placement, health, and socialization practices. Conditions in such facilities are generally inadequate. Both puppies and adult dogs may be malnourished, sickly, and may have poor temperaments.

We at Purebred Breeders constantly review and assess our procedures and protocols for screening and monitoring breeders. We do everything possible to ensure that we only represent professional and responsible breeders. Our organization has a Zero Tolerance Policy for breeders who do not follow any item in our code of ethics.

Community Commitment

Within our organization, both individually and as a group, we strongly support animal welfare and are very active in fundraising activities. We actively support and volunteer in a number of humane and rescue groups.
